Guten Tag! Bienvenudos!

Big shout out to multiculturalism, given that we don't hear English a whole lot here in London.

Yesterday, we went to the Globe Theater, where not the theater but the DRINKING FOUNTAIN was the highlight of Lindsay's tour.

Then we saw St. Paul's Catherdral, which we came back to later for church services - the world's LONGEST church service.
Then we were going to Westminster Abbey, but got derailed by protests!!! Yes, look for us on your local CNN - we are the tourists stepping into the path of the protests to get those pictures.
And so we did not unfortunately make it to the services at Westminster Abbey. We instead went to Trafalgar Square, and the National Gallery, where we saw great works of art that we were not permitted to photograph.
Then, we went to Harrod's which was an ungodly sea of humanity. We took the underground back to St. Paul's, where we took the self-portrait on the underground. We had thought that perhaps this picture would be our last, given that we were crammed within inches of our life on that train. If we had gotten any more crammed, I think I would have been a kidney donor.
So we went to St. Paul's, but had to leave early because half the city of London was getting confirmed at that service, and we had to attend..
The Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London. Again, a non-photo allowed event. So all in all, we had a jam-packed day.
Two observations....One, the sky in all the pictures are white because apparently the british sky is white. We have not seen blue sky since we have been here. Second, Londoners eat pizza with their forks, yet again perpetuating the lazy American stereotype of eating pizza with our hands. Yet, if I had to ride the underground and hold onto bars which millions of others had touched, I would likely eat pizza with a fork as well.
Anyways, onward to day three....The Tower of London!

  1. Looks like you're having fun! I forgot to warn you that the highlight of Linny's vacations are usually drinking fountain or pressed-penny related. Sorry :-)

  3. Lindsay has found that there are no pressed-pence machines here in Britain. As a result, we may contact Mr. Venture Capitalist from our plane ride to see if perhaps he would be willing to fund our little enterprise of pressed-pence machines around major tourist attractions. Here's an example, a pressed-pence with a cut off head at the Tower of London. Good wholesome fun for the family!
